The Swiss Society for Astrophysics and Astronomy (SSAA) aims to promote the study and the research in the fields of astrophysics and astronomy, to develop in Switzerland mutual information and collaboration between astronomers and to support their joint scientific efforts.

Ordinary General Assemblies of the SSAA are usually held annually.

In addition to a business session in the morning, the afternoon consists of a variety of scientific contributions and leaves plenty of room for networking between members. Award winners, doctoral students and members present their work.
