Saas Fee Advanced Courses
The Saas Fee Advanced Courses, organized by the Swiss Society for Astrophysics and Astronomy (SSAA), have been held annually since 1971. The courses cover important and timely fields of Astrophysics and Astronomy including related fields like computational methods.

The topics are chosen at the yearly General Assembly of the Society.
The courses are then given by two to four reputable researchers in those fields. Each lecturer covers a different aspect of the field on which he has his own expertise. Each course consists of 28 lectures of 45 minutes each, plus ample time for discussions and questions. The lectures are held from Monday to Saturday morning, in the morning and the late afternoon.
Lecture notes of many past courses have become standard texts in their field. They are not only appreciated by graduate students, but are also used and cited as reference by researchers.
