1. Update from the SSAA

The GA of 2024 was successfully held 3 October 2024 at the Aula of the University of Zürich.

Many thanks for University of Zürich for hosting the GA.

Thanks also to everybody who attended the GA for their participation and the presenters for their great talks during the science session.

The SSAA will have a new website starting early January 2025. We thank Michael Moser for his very valuable work to make this happen.

2. Extended Deadline for the 55th Saas-Fee Advanced Course for 2026

We have extended the call for proposals for the 55th Saas-Fee Course to be held in 2026 to the deadline of 1 February, 2025.

An evaluation panel will be set-up to discuss the proposals and announce the results by end of February 2025.

Proposal Guidelines: The proposals should be max 1 page long and include the relevant information on the science topic, foreseen lecturers, and the scientific organising committee. It is important to note that it is necessary to have a Saas-Fee Advanced Course Book on the lectures published by Springer. This has been agreed on during the last GAs. Also, a renewed contract with Springer to continue the book series is in place. So a proposal must include the aim to publish a book.

Please send your Saas-Fee Course proposals on all disciplines in Astrophysics and Astronomy by 1 February, 2025 to .
